Well, look at it this way, y’all are on a new and growing social media site that most people don’t know about yet! You’re trendsetters. 😆

Finding a good therapist or psychiatrist can be challenging. This thread is for recommending mental health professionals anywhere in the world. Hopefully, we can crowdsource a list that others will find helpful. Please post your feedback, even if it seems no other user will be from East Nothing, Arizona – this site gets many more hits than…

Long shot, but does anyone have a recommendation for a good, DID-informed psychiatrist in western Washington State? I have a great therapist but need someone for med management.

The Trigger Warning Territory Group is currently under reconsideration and reconstruction. The way it was built, anyone subscribed to the group would see feed posts in DissociaBook, which they may not have been ready for without warning. Going forward, I’m going to contain the TW content to a special forum or part of the site, I just…

I officially have the most fantastic boss ever. While I’ve mentioned PTSD and dissociation to him, I’d never entirely gone into having DID…. until sharon.t-e-c did this morning. 😛 We’re now about as out to him as it’s possible to be, I think. And he just rolled with it. While I don’t want to come out to my co-workers, I think it’s going…

Honestly, that’s amazing 🙂 I’m really happy that you felt safe enough to do that with him.

How do you all feel about this? I know some people bristle a bit at this type of ‘tough love’ type stuff, but I feel like it’s important. This is under ‘for those in the life of people with a dissociative disorder – challenges to be aware of/prepare for’, before going into the sections.

As much as it’d be great to say ‘people with DID can…

Someone once yelled at me for saying that DID is incurable because they thought that I was saying that people with DID can’t live full and happy lives 😒 not only did they put words in my mouth, but it also felt frustrating to have someone who doesn’t have DID tell me (someone who actually has the disorder) that I can’t talk about our… Read more

I think it’s important to say that people with DID can have full, successful, and mostly happy lives… but that we have to go about that differently than non-disabled folk. Everyone has challenges in life; ours are just pretty big and complex. I think warning and talking about those complexities is a good thing.

I think it’s fair to say, and I pretty much concur with the comments from others.

I’ve turned off posting to DissociaBook when new Blog posts are made. The main reason is that the T-E-C blog has never really used trigger warnings, and I don’t want to trigger someone who just wants to hang out on D’Book. People who want to keep up with the blogs can use the new box in the lower right of the page (or at the bottom if you’re…

Or, how do I know if I have it?
