This post is difficult for us to publishThe title is very accurate, as our system has a hard time trusting our memories to be factual and not some escapism fantasy we concocted…

Welcome to the cafe Sozan! Your profile mentions you’ve been dealing with dissociation for two months – is that anything you’d like to talk about more?

Welcome to the cafe, Tab! DPDR is no fun – I experience depersonalization myself fairly regularly, and derealization once in awhile. So far no medication has really helped. What helps for me is grounding, meditation, and sometimes just waiting it out – a lot of the time I’ll just take it as a sign its nap time.

Welcome to the Cafe, Francesca. It’s OK if you don’t have DID or alters, dissociation is a broad spectrum. You mention in your profile therapist after therapist – have any of them specialized in trauma? We’ve had mixed to bad luck with “average” therapists, who seem to want to put CBT band-aids on gaping wounds. 😞
